—— WORKSHOPS 2026 ——-
Painting the Unseen — a somatic art workshop
Sunday April 12, 10am-1pm, East Vancouver – Reservation LINK
Making art by listening to the body and letting felt experience lead to authentic expression—without the pressure of technique or expectations.
If this invitation sparks your curiosity, I warmly invite you to join me for an experiential, hands-on workshop. I’ll introduce you to my embodied creative process and guide the group through simple body-based practices that help us slow down, notice sensation, and reconnect with imagination and intuition.
These practices — drawn from dance, meditation, ritual, and visualization — are part of my somatic art practice. In simple terms, this means making art by paying attention to the wisdom of the body and letting movement, feeling, and awareness guide the creative process. I use these approaches to create artworks, but also to better understand myself and cultivate a sense of wellbeing. In this workshop, I’ll share parts of my process and invite you to explore in a supportive environment.
This workshop is open to anyone curious about creativity, reflection, or simply spending time in a grounded and attentive space. You’ll leave with a collection of drawings and a few simple practices you can return to at home. While this session works beautifully as a stand-alone experience, future gatherings will gradually deepen the process and lead toward creating finished artworks over time.
No previous art experience is necessary. All materials are provided. We may work with charcoal, graphite, ink, and paint — so please dress for a bit of mess.
Sliding scale $60–$80. Those who can pay at the higher end help make lower-cost spots possible. If cost is a barrier, please contact me about available lower-cost spots which I am happy to offer.
